I know this will sound ridiculous, simply after struggling with this trouble for weeks (my Thinkpad would not connect to my Android phone's personal Hotspot) I finally changed the name of the hotspot (from LGG3 to just LG)
and Presto! information technology connected.
sounds incredible simply it worked.

Stumbled on another solution.

I tried a lot of other things without success until I happened on a simple solution.

I only reset the Out Of Box (OOB) configuration for my phone and it worked.

To practise this, just get to your telephone's hot-spot and click on 'Prepare Wi-Fi hot-spot'. You'll encounter an option to reset OOB. Just click on it and your settings will exist reset.

Connect to your computer and enjoy.

"NOTE: If this doesn't work, you may want to reset your modem/router, and then one time information technology is fully loaded again, echo the above steps."

Apparently y'all didn't read OP's query very closely, because it relates to connecting to a phone'south mobile hotspot, not whatever "router"

My result is exactly the same. My Win10 PC can connect to many WiFi access points, hands, successfully and repeatedly. However information technology cannot connect to any of my phones or other android devices. Information technology tin can come across the network (hotspot) and either cannot connect (gives a message "Cannot connect to this network" ) or connects but gets no internet. These devices, all android, all can get internet connections, and connect to each other fine, just the PC does not connect to any of them.

From the number of queries I see on the spider web, this is a common problem, and nobody has published an answer that seems to address the event, they only use standard commands or take wild guesses.
